Friday the work day was over and in walked the cavalry. Well, daddy is the cavalry really, but he was out in a field. In the metaphorical sense, there is no better cavalry than the Grandma Cavalry. Particularly when the cavalry rides in with new Transformer pajamas, books, clothes, toys, and movies!
And she is up for taking children out to very public places, and she seems to enjoy it!
And her visit inspired grandpa's visit, which in turn inspired daddy's visit on Saturday night.
So yes, the Grandma Cavalry is the best cavalry there is.
And we tried to play outside, but it was messy and damp. And we all had a bit of a stomach thing going around.
So Grandma Cavalry loaded up the kids twice--once to go get grandpa from the airport and another time to take him back. And I look so happy because that meant at least two hours of time alone in my own house.
And I'm told they attended a hangar party, rode a golf cart, checked the weather, met some old friends, and generally had a great time.
And when it was time for grandpa to go, Nicholas helped untie the plane and they watched him head into the West. It was good to see you grandpa. And the next morning, Cavalry grandma, having done her duty very well, loaded up and followed him home to Kansas.
Thank you Cavalry Grandma. Thank you very much for helping us, particularly when we felt so horrible.

And it's a good thing grandpa got out when he did because this morning, according to the boys, the world was covered in smoke.

Way to go Grandma and Grandpa:) Everyone looks so happy, it's obvious that all had a wonderful time.
I love the "covered in smoke." Such great imaginations.
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday:)))))
