July 19, 2007.What a hot day.
That didn't seem to matter much by early evening.
By your first birthday we were still stunned but more and more by what a wonderful addition you made to our family and less and less by the fact that we now had four kids 2 and under.
Second birthday?Full swing mostly delightful antics.
Today. Our amazement is at what wonderful girls we have.

I love this phase of the year right here, where I can say you have two 3 year olds and two 4 year olds. I know it feels that close the rest of the year (because it is) but saying two 3 year olds and two 5 year olds somehow sounds the slightest bit less hectic.
I know these years have not mostly flown by but have been soldiered through, literally and figuratively, but here you are on the other side of them, with Patric's homecoming waiting in the wings, and I hope it feels good over there because it does from here. Feels real good.

Happy birthday, sweet girls! I'm so blessed to have shared your lives, even for a short while. Now I just get to be a bystander. It's easier, but not nearly as fun! :^)
