The Train 2009

Nearly this time a week ago, we suited up in our pajamas and rolled around in the Memphis train station for over an hour while we waited on our train.

And it finally arrived, and we all got ourselves settled and to sleep pretty much like old pros.

I bunked with Elaine, who was up at 6 the next morning. So she and I headed upstairs to the dining car for breakfast and had French Toast sent down to the rest of the lucky sleepers.

The view looking up at Benjamin in the morning after we finally talked him into sleeping in an upper bunk.

And except for the part where we nearly left our luggage in Chicago, we had on time trains and pretty good luck.

Movies were an excellent diversion, although Elaine passed out over there after being up so early in the morning.
We were on time and rolled into our destination at 2:30 in the morning on Friday, just as we planned. Grandpa and Uncle Brian were so exuberant at being chosen the ones to collect us from the train station.

Yea, Stubers are back on line:) Train ride looks like a big success. Glad to know that everyone had a great ride. And somehow, I bet ya, neither Uncle or Grandpa minded being the "chosen ones:)"
