Pictures From Mommy Away--2

I may have taken the minivan and left it at the airport.
He was not deterred in getting them to the bicycle rodeo on Saturday.

My family would call this an outfit--indeed.

The rodeo during which there was a carnival of sorts, where the girls had their nails done and faces painted.

At Shoney's later, Alida announced: "Good thing I had my nails painted since we are going to such a fancy place for dinner!"

Pictures From Mommy Away Number 1

They made it to soccer, in their uniforms!  Well, I presume that the boys had on shin guards and shoes at some point.

Girls won 6-4!
Boys Tied 6-6
(Notice I did not put scores last week--we're getting better!)
Alida had too many blocks to count as a goalie, and Elaine made a goal!

This and That

This, whatever this is,

Quickly became that--a work-from-home office with a view. Rotate the couch 90 degrees and the empty wall becomes the Friday night projector movie spot.

And this, well there wasn't even a before picture of this because it was so bad. A half bath tucked neatly off of the office gives me no excuse to roam from work during the day. The couch and the tv or the deer roaming outside, they call to me often.

Just give the boy some rubberbands

I can't really say there is any answer for the girls, who are doing I have no clue here....

But give Nick some rubber bands and he's set for quite a while making himself armor... That should hold him for the hour long bus drive...

More Texts from the Bus Driver

Hey Susan I am just letting you know that I am going to have to write an office referral for Nick today...I have had problems with the elementary as a whole not taking me serious so I warned them all equally that I was gonna crack down on the foolishness...particularly standing up, turning around and not staying in the seat. Well with Nick I have warned him plenty plenty plenty times to sit down, turn around and stay in his seat but today not only was he guilty of all that but he was throwing wadded up paper at another rider...I have been as nice to him as I can and he himself will tell you I have been more than lenient. The first referral is always a warning anyway but the next ones will get him days off the bus...I hate having to write kids up but I think a little trip to the office will show him (and his siblings) that I mean business. I also had to have a stern but nice talk with the girls about staying in their seats because they don't wanna sit down and like to roam the bus. I told them that if they cant sit down I would have to give them an office referral as well. The girls said they understand and Nick knows and understands why he is in trouble. Call me if you need to. Thanks

Wait. Did he say days off the bus?!

Elaine Wasn't So On Board

With being the goalie. A fashionable girl has her limits.

Turns Out--Soccer Amuses me more than I dreamed it would

Nicholas quickly got in the fray.

Benjamin warmed up.

Elaine was the ringer--who knew she would take to it with such heart.

And Alida remained somewhat reserved.

This And That

It's almost hard to see how pink this room is, how aggravatingly pink.

There, perhaps that highlights the color a bit.

That's better.

Write your name in the sky with a sparkler.

Go to battle with your sparkler.

Dress Up With Elaine

Every morning on the way to the bus, pick up sticks and pretend to be a buck.

This day, she looked a little worn out from wearing those things around on her head. But, they work really well to sweep away any spider webs you may encounter before you wrap your face in them.

Working From Home

My oat-nothing-cakes to keep me from eating their Twinkies.

My Luna bars to keep me from eating their Pop-tarts.

My yogurt to keep me from eating their junk.

Tables turned. Sigh

Disappointing Owl

Nice, neat chalkboard wall.

Nicholas begins to immediately shoot down my Halloween Owl.
"Nicholas, why are you shooting my owl?!"
"Disappointing Owl."

"Well, that's not very nice to say about my artwork."
"No, mom. The Owl's message is disappointing. Too long to Halloween. Your drawing is nice."

Soccer Mom

I am not.
Daddy signed them up.
Daddy left town the day after Labor Day for four days, on eight hours notice.
Mom figured out where to get them, what they needed, and what time to arrive.
Mom did not figure out that the shin guards go inside of the socks...
Soccer Mommy Fail. But, they are so crazy cute and proud not knowing their faux paus. And I am constantly looking for other Pee Wee players that are similarly dressed, hoping that we're just setting a trend... We're not.

Notes from the Bus Driver

Text from the bus driver, Day 1:
"I just thought I would let you know what great kids you guys have. They are all polite and well behaved. The girls are cute as they can be and they site together and talk amongst themselves. One of the boys likes to sit with his sisters and talk to me while I am driving and ask questions (still trying to figure out which is which with them two) the other one likes to nap but he is mostly quiet. Tell them what a good job they are doing on the bus for me and to keep it up."

Day 2:
"Hey, just letting you know that the girls had a good day today and one of them left their thermos thing (red one) on the bus and that I have it and can give it to you in the morning. The boys didn't have such a good day... Nick was loud today (sat right behind me) and I had to ask him a few times to be quiet...Ben was watching someone play a video game and didn't wanna sit down and one time I caught him on the floor, lol. It's no big deal just letting you know. Tell them to do better tomorrow :)"

Day 3:
"Hi, Nick just threw up on the bus before we got to school. Just wanted to let you know."
