Aggravating Things

Argh.  Why not finish one before starting the next?  just why?

Even Easy Dinner

Takes effort around here. 

Patric wasn't even home this evening.

Still made two different kinds of soup since I can't understand how anyone eats the one out of the can. 

All I see is smudged glass

Four in glasses; one in four glasses.

It still gets confusing around here from time to time. 

Way Back Last Year

Patric and I took the boys out for a birthday lunch. Where I was advised that I use chopsticks incorrectly.  To which I replied, at least I am trying. 

Most birthdays wind up right here though, in the kitchen.  Where we share a quiet celebration to mark the passing of another year.  That we get smiles, makes my heart warm. 

That was a Lot of Work

One of the few sitcoms we watch has a whole episode based around an argument over a Wedge Salad. So, the children have been asking to have it for dinner. I admit, I didn't even know what this was until I looked it up.  And, I still wonder if we did it wrong. 

Because we weren't sure how to go about eating this. 

Alida decided taco salad wedges would do. 

Elaine just kind of kept taking bites out of a huge forkful. 

Nicholas deconstructed his. 

And Ben, mostly stared. 

And it was Over

The girls set up, and the boys broke it down.  

Time to embrace 2020. 

Warmer New Year's Eve

Followed by dessert. 

Plunging into the New Year

Imagine, if you will, that the one diving is me. 

And  that is the rest of my family right behind me.  But, they aren't following, they are actually putting on the brakes.  

As I came up from diving into the wake, the four children were still standing half in the water and their father had chickened out entirely.  We made him go back....

Super cold but super fun. 

And it was a beautiful day at the beach to start the new year. 

Then we went and ate all of their mashed potatoes and all of their rice and all of their bread.

Dessert

An entire carton of ice cream in one sitting. 

I wish I was 14. 

We'll turn toward healthy eating next week. 

Family Game Day

This is how we play family video games. 

It gets a little loud. 

And it gets a little animated. 

At least we're not just staring at the screen and participating with our full force.
