Nicholas

"Nicholas.  What are you doing?"
"I'm making chalk mom."
"Oh, oh of course you are."

Giving Up

Found on my iPhone
The Friday evening that their dad and I fell in a tired heap (on the edge of getting colds), and the little people managed to entertain themselves without incident, while we rested.

Ben

Smallest baby: 5 pounds 6 ounces.
He had to pass extra tests at the hospital before we could take him home.

Last month he changed pant sizes twice.
And has decided to lose all of his teeth in the past week.

Oh, lovely

I would expect this list from the boys.
But the boys don't wear red manicures....

Saturday Morning Success

Marine Biologist for the Day at the Houston Aquarium.

Elaine was surprisingly one of the most attentive and interested in the following:
Suiting up...

For squid dissection.
They have three hearts and a beak.

Feeding the stingrays.

Learning to Lisp

And so it was during the "epic" battle, Nicholas punched his brother in the face and helped along the front two teeth that were on their way out.  The next two in line are already loose.

Tooth Fairy did not miss this epic evening.
Good thing she hasn't been hit with the flu lately.

This Is More What I Expected From Kindergarten

Mrs. Stuber,

This morning Alida came up to me during announcements to inform me that she “broke” her leg. She then lifted her pant leg to show me a scab on her left knee. I told her I will watch her to make sure that she was okay for the day and that I would inform you. She told me “Okay” and went to join the rest of the class for announcements. Alida didn’t mention anything about her leg all day until the end of the day. She asked me if I wrote a note to inform you of her “broken” leg. I told Alida I would email you instead. I just wanted to keep you informed.

I think maybe she bumped it on the cubbie shelf when she went to sit down for the announcements. Alida is such a cute student.

It has been a refreshing year compared to last.

Final Holiday Randomness

Threw a little birthday party for the neighbor in there.

Found the Nick and Ben are awesome writing while cleaning.

Lots of bedhead these past few weeks.

And sheared to go back to school.  So amazingly hard to get used to my nice new clippers.  I tell myself Ben's hair will grow back.

No Words.

Our Holiday Visitors

Houston Space Center.
Not our favorite outing surprisingly.

Giving grandma manicures over and over again, big hit.

Grandpa waited patiently for all of the baking to come out of the oven.

What I did on my Christmas Vacation

Kneading dough with my mini-me.

Eight loaves worth.

(I can hear it now: remember mom always wore that STP shirt?  What a lame band.)

To name a few of our favorite holiday foods.
It's time to get back to work...and running.

Happy New Year

Ah, modesty.
A long four years ago at Christmas.

This year for Christmas Eve service.

Utter Cuteness.

Even working together cuteness.

We're still working on our modesty.

New Year's Eve spent right here.
