Thanks Lucy! From Everyone

That right there is my yucker (pacifier) sewn to my pajama top. Mom remembers that Lucy's mom did the same thing to her pajamas and decided to try it. Two nights ago mom and dad had to come upstairs and get my yucker for me three times; last night I couldn't get rid of the thing and they slept all night. Of course, now try to get my pajama top away in the morning. HA!

Unfair!

First it was the red hoe. Then she took the lawn mower. Next went the blue rake. The broom and the mop went at the same time, and we were put on notice. Then she took the green shovel on principle and said no more toys. She has banished them to the garage. Doesn't she know that we have no concept of sharing yet? She didn't say if we'll ever get them back.

Father's Day: That means we get attention from dad ALL day, right?

It started with breakfast in our pajamas (or dad's lack of pajamas) before going to church.
Later that day we had ice cream. (And messed up dad's favorite outfits of ours.)
Man, did we have ice cream.
But, then we had to learn to brush our teeth because of all the ice cream.
Then, of course, we had a sword fight with dad.
And, we read a book.
And, then we decided to give dad his real present. For six months he's been trying to show us how this train works, but he always gets frustrated when we tear the rails apart as fast as he builds them. We thought that was the game. But last night, we calmed down just long enough to learn that the train rides on the tracks. That was a whole new kind of fun.

18-Months (and feeling expressive, or is that just cranky?)

So we technically turned 18 months last week, but we just got to the doctor for our checkup yesterday. We were dressed pretty snazzy for the trip though.
The Stats:
Nicholas
23 1/2 pounds and 31 1/2 inches long
Benjamin
24 pounds 2 ounces and 30 1/2 inches long
The doctor gave us a good report. She said we need to watch for development of asthma in the future but that our noses are probably related to the weather right now. We're doing all the tricks we should, and we even let Dr. Snapp hold us for a few minutes--both at the same time! She's strong. She was also mad when she found out that the nurse had written positive answers to a questionnaire in both our charts and hadn't actually asked us the questions. Mom says we won't let her be our nurse anymore, if she's still there next time. And, yeah, we both got a shot. But Dr. Snap said all that's left this year is the flu shot this fall!
The day before our sisters were weighed too. They don't really weigh them as much as they measure them and guess. But mom said it was a darn good sounding guess. Baby A weighs 4 pounds and 2 ounces and Baby B weighs 4 pounds and 6 ounces now. Yep, that's 8 1/2 pounds of babies. Mom is 31 weeks pregnant and holding, even though she says she feels 42 weeks pregnant now.

Kisses

Did you see this over on Gracie's site? I have learned how to kiss. Mom says I'm a bit relentless about the whole thing and it can get a little wet when my nose is running (which is nearly always). But, I think I'm pretty good at this affection thing. And, I think those are dimples coming out as I pucker. Slob back there made a mess with his drink as usual. You should have smelled the car after he spent a week coming back from daycare with a milk cup. He figured out that he got attention if he would take a big swig of milk and spit it out all over himself and the seat and the floor. Doesn't make for too good an aroma in the South in June once it kind of bakes in. Mom said no more milk on the ride home from daycare, but it doesn't really matter because we don't go there any more! Frannie the Nanny started this week and we get to stay home during the day now! It's looking like a good deal right now; we'll let you know.

The Neatest Trick Yet

So surely you've been over to Gracie's Spot to check out how our last weekend went, right? We had a blast and mom said she got to sleep in for the first time in nearly 18 months. This morning we made sure that she didn't mess around with that though, and we got up extra early around 5:00. She said she probably shouldn't encourage us, but we also got some fruit and cheerios out of the deal since we were ahead of schedule. Nicholas thought that was so nice that he handed dad his bowl to clean out, waited patiently for it to be handed back, and then took it over to the dishwasher and put it in. He then stood back smiling and accepting his praise. Then, as we were leaving for daycare on schedule, two wheels fell off the garage door and it kind of crumpled in on itself. Mom says we now look like an outfit.
