Flashback Friday: August 2012

Those are still my favorite ever pajamas the girls had.
Neither she nor I prefer that haircut.

Before sending the girls off to their first year of school and the boys off to first grade, we stopped to see family in Minnesota.  I think this may be the last time we were all together.

Everyone is so much bigger now!

And then they were off, to a school building with people and germs and colds and attendance and friends and enemies and school lunch and recess.  I'd pay money for all those things today.

Bring it on

And so we decorated.
We even purchased and wrapped (yep, it's mostly done).
We sent out Christmas cards this year!
We planned the menu and table setting.

Now, Alida, when you make us a fire, let's settle in and enjoy it.
When we go to church, let's settle in and focus on being there.
When we attend the parade, let's settle in and be taken away for just a little while.
When we play a game, let's laugh and not think of our to-do list.
When we're together, let's be together.

Aunt Lori and Aunt Brian

 Hi Jacob, utter cuteness.
Would you like something?

 Shhh.  Don't tell mommy.

But we'll always share our chocolate chip cookies with you when you come to visit.

And we'll share our pirate patches and swords matey.

Be our guest at the pool.

And maybe sneak in an afternoon nap as well.

I love having my brother and his family here--they remind us to slow down.
