Time With Grandma Airplane

While I was out for work, Grandma Airplane came along to help the kiddos.
And they made a pretty cool cake!

And spent some time outside.

And went to the school art show!

And the girls had their end of the year dance at school.
Ha, dance.  right.

Thank you grandma for always stepping in when we have the scheduling disasters.

Clue

And so we played until we had our answer.

But not until there was a two-hour cacophony of noise around this table.  Slow and deliberate investigation is not this brood's style. Strawberries, grape juice and deli meat straight out of the container by the handful--dinner is served with our murder mystery.

Coming and Going

Patric and I have been meeting each other coming and going for these past three months with a hand off and kiss, if there is time. And so it was, as we stared at the calendar the other morning, finally figuring out that we were both scheduled to be out of town while the kids were on spring break, that our stomachs dropped.

Thank you grandma and grandpa airplane for saving the day, and providing a safe place for the kiddos while we both have to be away.  And I scurried off to make a three-way plane ticket with stops no where near home. And Patric left early to make a conference call.

Benjamin: "How come you two always get to go on all of these vacations?!"

Things To Come

Well Alida, what's got your nose all out of joint this fine afternoon?

The purposefully crossed arms.
The big lip.
The heavy sigh.
Oh, the drama.

Ah, fighting over fake phone time already.
It's okay, by the time you are a teenager, I'm guessing you'll all just have some surgically attached chip that circumvents this problem. I'm sure you'll wonder what on earth that thing is that is tethered to the wall. Or perhaps you're already fighting for the attention of the person on the other end of the line?

The Return of Markers

And in other birthday news, MommyJenny and sister Anna made a visit to wish the boys a happy birthday this weekend. And out popped markers once again. Don't worry Jenny, your kindness will be repaid.
It will be repaid.

Luckily the girls were glad to play with the gift bags while the boys figured out how to snap the markers together end to end to make toy guns.

Here's wishing you a happy December delivery MommyJenny, just in time for the tax deduction and just before the renewal of the deductible. But not on Christmas. And certainly she'll decide a Thursday would be a good day so that daddy's vacation time is most efficiently used...
(I thought I was a planner!)

But, as we all now know, babies come when they choose.
So we'll wish most of all for a safe and healthy delivery whenever the pumpkin decides to make her appearance.
