Alida Sings

The music teacher at the middle school has an enviable amount of energy.
And she held a singing workshop with the instructor from the high school there to listen and politely critique the brave singers last week.

I was amazed at Alida's version of Castle in a Cloud.  It was beautiful.
When the instructor said that Alida could put on a beret and be Cossete, I couldn't have agreed more.

Freedom

And it took the cat about zero hours to become used to the dog being gone.

And to have her own disdain for the neighbor kids, taking over Jack's job perhaps not as vocally, but with equal emotion.

And so it was, one snowy April day...

That Patric looked at the weather and said, I better get going.  It looks like you are going to get some snow...

So Jack made an attempt at getting comfortable for the drive to the new house.

And we settled in the week after Easter, to watch it snow.

And they made it home.  And we can't wait to join.

Ben Cooks

He claimed he liked peeling potatoes.

And mashing.

And after a very long time, we had the making of his favorite, Shepherd's Pie.

And we ate.
And then began the pestering to turn in the project.

Moving Discoveries

We knew the bed had been broken before, way back in Alabama.
Patric had done an excellent job of fixing the frame at the time, and it survived two moves.
We had thought.
Then when we were moving some things, we found a split rail and an entire bed being held up by books.

Ben: "I don't know.  It was late, so I shoved some books under there.  Then I forgot about it."
Sigh

Track Season

First race out on the hurdles, Ben won!

Nick ran the mile, half mile, and some other long race.

So proud of them both!
