It's a little telling that when the girls have a friend over, the friend generally talks them into cleaning their room...   In this case they found some feathers, and Elaine became a wild turkey.

 

And flight proved to be just as difficult as being a real turkey.

Alida did not let me get away with saying she could get her ears pierced without scheduling the date and time of the event.

Elaine happily joined the outing,

and picked out a magnetic pair of earrings for herself.

I Hear It Was Cold

Recently, I was fortunate enough to be here,

when the forecast at home was to be ridiculously cold.

 

And I may have been doing this, when the heater failed at home.

 

I definitely wasn't there when the pipes burst and flooded the main floor.

 

I may have been sitting on my balcony watching the sunrise where I was.

Spring Cleaning of some sort.

 

Before our first haircuts in preparation for Aunt Lori and Aunt Brian's wedding.

Boys

I make you have dinner with me, so I can catch a photo from time to time these days.

 

Otherwise, you are coming and going and hiding.  Perhaps you are arguing.  Perhaps you are playing together in the basement or not  I know you have a Sprite in your armpit and a headset near by.   Nicholas tells me not to worry, he'll come back around some day.  These days, I catch my moments when I can, and I know that rarely involves taking a picture and just sitting to talk for a few minutes while I have one of them.

No girls, impossible I think. I love that I find you huddled together most of the time.  Your giggles are infectious.  You imagination is amazing.  And I am so proud of your friendship.

Sledding

The good thing about the North, they just cordon off places and accept that the kids are going to wreck the place during the winter.

 

Ben wasn't happy that I told him to just wear my snow pants when his from last year wouldn't fit any more.  But I'll be he didn't mind when his super long legs didn't get snow on them.

 

It's a little more formal than our backyard, homegrown launching pad, but not much.

The Circle of Doom
