May Happened

Somewhere in Arkansas.

My hotel in Cincinnati.

Him at Ft. Hood.
Somewhere in there he went to Houston too.

Me in DC.

He in Grafenwohr, Germany.

Sometimes we weren't even coming and going and we were just going. One more trip to Nebraska for me and one more trip to Wisconsin for him, and then we're looking forward to running into each other again.

Board Games

Monopoly with dad.
Nicholas still wins this one every time, despite landing in jail for the first few rounds.
Please, let's not have that be the future.

Mysterium with mom and dad.
We wind up here from time-to-time, when we remember that we need to unplug and just hang out.  It is loud and grumpy, and fun and hysterical.  All at the same time.

The Sloth Habitat

made with much printing, much help from Hobby Lobby, and home-made slime for the pond there.

The presentation, I hear it went well.

6th Grade Music Performance

Ben--stiff as stone, much like his first haircut.
But, the boy signed up for chorus as an elective all on his own for next year, and that makes me happy.  I love hearing him sing to himself when he forgets what is happening around him at home.

And Nick.  Now granted the girls there are up a step on the risers, but this entirely reminds me of my own 6th grade year.  Despite having nearly caught up with his brother recently in height, the towering of the girls at this age is so awkward.  It'll change soon, I'm sure. If I remember correctly, I was essentially done growing by this point in 6th grade, and when I headed into 7th, the tide had turned.

Peel and Stick

Wallpaper.
(I really hope the part where you can take it down is true...otherwise we may have just wrecked the rental....)

Putting up some color for the girls = happy
Not fighting wallpaper paste for me = happy

Flashback Friday: May 2009

Patric road tripped alone with the kids.
Bravery.

May 2018--he and I will be in the same state together four days, everyone will be in school all month, and there is no way we're getting anyone to hold hands in their animal T-shirts like this this ever again...

Just Better

And we may have harumpfed a lot during our two week find a house and move now experience, but we definitely won a better kitchen.  No doubt.
I laughed a lot for three days when I cooked on a stove top that didn't slant...

And we didn't kill each other!
Even better.
(We may have wound up with about two and half times the previous bedroom and four times the previous bathroom as well...)

Having a lease so we can enroll the children in school for next year--key.

Oh Boys

You could not for the life of you figure out why you had to attend the Elementary School musical and art show.

We could not for the life of us consider leaving you home.

That you then got into a full conversation about the difficulty of creating shadows in artwork, that made us smile.

The 90's

And Hmm.
Why are they dressed like this.
I feel like the 90's didn't really get a good set of identifiable clothing style.

It was their interpretation of dressing in the style of the 90's for the 4th/5th grade production of the Juke Box Time Machine at school.

Super fun evening in the midst of moving. And Alida even had a speaking part in there!

Fifth Grade Art Show

Elaine--as a parachutist.

Elaine's tree-house in the sky.

Alida learning shadows.

Alida on the balance beam.

And Ben being a good sport at the show.
