Not Good Enough

Making a plane, not good enough.
Adding a cargo hold for his extra Lego pieces?
That's Nicholas.

When I told the teacher at conferences, in some dummy mommy moment of honesty, that we can't get Nicholas to stop shopping on Amazon for Lego sets, she smiled after expressing surprise that he knows Amazon.

(Duh, how do you think our family has survived these past seven years?!  Forethought and Amazon)

She says that Lego kids have good handwriting, and this explains his remarkably good handwriting skills.
Who knew?

ET in The Dark

First Heritage Trail Court "big screen" screening of ET last weekend.

My favorite line of the night:
"It really shouldn't be this humid at 8:30 at night."

Shorts, bug spray, and given-up-on hair-does prevailed as the adults watched and the kids left for the park.

Whew

Daddy gone for three weeks; daddy back for two weeks; daddy gone again for two weeks.
In those middle two weeks:
Six dentist appointments
Four flu mists.
Five-year appointments for the girls. (yes, we're a touch behind.)
One big grocery haul.
Why is my air conditioner still running?
Four parent/teacher conferences.
The Halloween costume run.
Boy Scout Fun With Son overnight camping.
One ladies night complete with picnic, movie, Target run, and ice cream.

And in there some very nutritious meals were served.

That's where we were.

Ah Nicholas

Didn't notice there was a camera out.

...and there he spotted it.

Cold and Flu Season

Last Friday Ben came home with a tooth on a necklace hanging around his neck.
He dutifully tucked it away for the fairy that night.

whoops.

She didn't show.

Night Two: (yikes) no show again.

Then dad sat him down, and they talked about flu season and how that fairy has to touch all of those germs getting teeth from pillows and all.  And, well, Monday morning he woke up to a pillow stuffed with guilt money.

Not Halloween

Alida the Cat.
Least problematic parent/teacher conference.
Actually, everyone did well this first one this first year with all in school.
Chik-fil-A and face painting all around.

We're So Not Telling

What Halloween will be, but they all chose so cute.  Well maybe not all cute, but all themselves.

I'll seriously not be surprised

"Girlfriend" they name is Elaine.

Second Letter

Even after heaving this thing out of view and into regulation.
Suddenly they are fussing about height.
Neighborhood Associations=a few too many people with a bit too much time on their hands.

Brother

Cookies, candy, and sliced bell peppers.

Bell peppers got wiped out. I'm still picking at the candy.

The Return

 Of Batgirl.

A bit more domesticated and baking bread.

HaHaHa...Oh Boy

Chatted with our old babysitter the other day, who still had a copy of this in her phone.

And then I ran across this getting Kindergarten homework together.

Try Again

Our birthday herb garden grew Basil, the other kind of never made it along.
So we tried again this past weekend.

Here Alida is giving them some light so they'll grow.

Boy Scouts

6 hours of sewing 12 patches.

And more to go.
But so stinkin' cute.

And there is a den mommy who has us beat--she is an identical twin.  She and her sister married identical twin brothers.  They live next door to each other.  She has a set of 11-year-old twin boys, and a boy in first grade.
Whew.
That is a tv show.

Cinderella on a Bike

Hard to capture from the porch while enjoying fall weather.

Sunday Morning Breakfast Challenge

Have the neighbors spend the night.
Get four kids up and ready for church with two friends nearby, like in the same house.
Serve breakfast Pioneer Woman Style.
Neighbor mommy gives my morning picture text of cooking eggs a mediocre score.

Then she admits she was still in bed and the score came up a touch when hers went home fed....

Happy Monday

From the treasure box at school--nothing but smiles for Elaine so far this year.
I can't even explain how much this tickles me.
